I am fascinated with urban payphones and have started capturing photos of them around the city. Many of the phones have been removed since I started the series two years ago. I will have several more images from the series posted soon.

This is one of my favorite images from the infrared series. The photo was captured at a Japanese garden in Hilo. Many people have commented about the look of an eye from the bridge reflection. The long 30 second exposure helped to smooth out the water and create a crisp reflection. I really enjoy the look of palm trees in infrared.

I use an infrared filter (Hoya R72) on my digital camera to transform ordinary places into unique winterscapes. With the infrared filter, green leaves and grass that reflect the infrared light spectrum appear as bright white. A long exposure is often required for the images creating an appearance of movement in the clouds and trees.

Dream Home was created to have the look of a spooky dreamscape. This is a composite image combining an amazing run down cabin in Colorado and a background storm from a different day. I worked with the color balance and levels to create a darker mood and match the desired look. I also removed several no trespassing signs that were distracting on the front of the cabin.
